Lake Minnetonka

With more than 100 miles of shoreline, 14,000-acre Lake Minnetonka is the largest lake in the Twin Cities metro region and ninth in area among the 12,000-plus lakes in the state of Minnesota. With healthy populations of game fish species such as walleye, sunfish, crappie and largemouth bass, the lake is a mecca for fishing. Shore anglers can take advantage of fishing piers and platforms on the lake to get out to deeper water where the fish suspend during the warmer months.
